About Narayani Thread Private Limited
We make bag closing thread, not just sell it. That’s the short version. Here’s the longer one.
Why We Started
Kolkata's Chittaranjan Avenue and Girish Park stretch has been a wholesale trading belt for generations, and that's where Sumit Kumar Deora set up Narayani Thread in 2015. He'd seen the same problem from different sides of the counter for years. Rice mills and tea packers needed bag closing thread that ran clean through a whole shift, but most of what they could buy came from traders reselling somebody else's production. When a cone snapped or a colour didn't match, the trader could shrug. They hadn't made it.
So the idea was straightforward, even if building it wasn't. Set up as an actual manufacturer, control the winding and the wax lubrication ourselves, and stand behind what goes out the door because we're the ones who made it. That's still the whole business, eleven years later.
The early years weren't smooth, and there's no point pretending otherwise. Setting up winding capacity takes real money. A trading business doesn't carry that cost. So the first couple of years meant carrying it ourselves, before the order book caught up. What kept it going was a handful of rice mills near Bardhaman and Hooghly who gave a new, unproven manufacturer a chance instead of sticking with an established trader. We still supply some of them today, which says more about the relationship than any amount of marketing copy could.
We registered as Narayani Thread Private Limited. Trust Poly Thread is our brand name, the one on the cone label and this website. If you've ever wondered why an invoice says one name and the packaging says another, that's why. Same company, same GST number, same factory. We mention this because we've had buyers ask, and it's a fair question to ask any supplier, not just us.

What Manufacturer Actually Means Here
Anyone can call themselves a manufacturer. So what does it actually mean in our case? It means when a buyer wants 840 denier in maroon instead of red, we change the run ourselves. It means when a mill asks for a 1000 metre cone instead of 2000, that's a production decision, not a phone call to someone else's factory. A trading company has to go back to its own supplier and wait, and often the answer comes back as no.
It also means we carry the responsibility when something goes wrong. If a batch runs inconsistent, that's on our production floor, not three vendors removed where nobody can quite say whose fault it was. We'd rather own that than pass it along.
None of this makes us the biggest name in bag closing thread. There are bigger factories in Gujarat and Tamil Nadu turning out far higher volumes. What we've built instead is a business where the person answering your call actually knows how the thread was made.

A Straight Answer On Price
We're not usually the cheapest quote a buyer gets, and we won't pretend otherwise. A trading house with no winding capacity can sometimes undercut us on one order. That's especially true if they're clearing old stock. What we'd ask is what happens on the second order, when that stock is gone and the price or the spec quietly shifts. We'd rather quote a fair price consistently than a low one that doesn't hold.
And when we do get something wrong, and we have, the answer isn't a discount and a shrug. It's finding out whether it was a tension setting, a denier mismatch, or genuinely a bad batch on our end, and fixing whichever one it turns out to be. We're not flawless. We just don't disappear when something needs sorting.
The People Running It
Sumit Kumar Deora is the director and the one most buyers end up speaking with directly, whether that's a first enquiry or a complaint about a batch. Suman Deora handles a good part of the daily running alongside him. It's a family business in the plain sense of that phrase, not a marketing line. There's a small team on the production floor keeping the winding and packing moving, and honestly, that's who deserves the credit when a cone arrives right.
We're not going to pad this section with invented job titles or stock photos of people who don't work here. If you deal with us, you'll likely deal with Sumit or Suman directly, and we'd rather you knew that going in.
How The Product Range Grew
Thread was the whole business for the first couple of years. Then a rice mill we were already supplying asked if we could also handle the sealing tape for the same sacks, since they were tired of coordinating two vendors and two delivery schedules for one sack of rice. We said yes, sorted out the sourcing, and it went well enough that we kept saying yes.
Tea packers asked about tags next. Then shrink film, then BOPP film. None of it followed a five year plan sitting in a drawer somewhere. Each addition came from an existing buyer asking, and us deciding it made sense to say yes rather than send them elsewhere. Eleven years on, that's how we ended up as a seven line business instead of a one product one.
Where We Stand Today, And How To Check It
We're not going to ask you to just take our word for any of this, because we wouldn't take a stranger's word for it either. Here's what you can verify yourself, and how.
Narayani Thread Private Limited is registered under CIN U74900WB2015PTC206271. Search that on the Ministry of Corporate Affairs site, or on IndiaFilings. You'll see the same incorporation year we've stated here: 2015. Our GST number is 19AAECN9186B1Z7. Check it on the government GST portal, the same way you'd check any supplier before a first order. Our PAN is AAECN9186B. We're also listed on IndiaMART with a multi year trading history under Narayani Thread Pvt Ltd, which you can look up directly.
Our registered address is 252/D, Chittaranjan Avenue, 3rd Floor, Near Girish Park Metro Gate No. 3, Kolkata 700006, and it's a real working address you can find on the map, not a virtual office listing. We manufacture here, we don't just route orders through it. Get in touch to arrange a visit.

Who We End Up Supplying
Rice mills make up the largest share of our regular buyers, especially through the Bardhaman, Nadia, Murshidabad and Hooghly belt where a lot of Bengal's Aman paddy gets milled. Tea gardens and packers come next, mostly for tags, envelopes and BOPP film rather than thread. Beyond that we deal with flour mills, feed units and a handful of fertiliser packers.
Here's what we've noticed over eleven years. The buyers who stick around aren't always the biggest ones. They're the ones who called us with a problem once and got a straight answer instead of a runaround. That's a smaller thing to be known for than being the biggest name in the category, but it's the one we've actually managed.
What Happens After You Order
First time buyers get a sample cone before anything goes out in bulk. That's not a sales tactic, it's just common sense. You should see how our thread runs on your machine before you commit to a full order. Once you're happy with it, we pack in proper cartons, not loose in a sack, and dispatch from Kolkata on whichever transport you use.
If something's off after that, call us. We'd rather sort a problem on the phone than have a buyer quietly move to a different supplier and never tell us why.
Questions People Ask Us Directly
Yes. We're incorporated under CIN U74900WB2015PTC206271, which you can look up on the Ministry of Corporate Affairs website or on IndiaFilings. Our GST number is 19AAECN9186B1Z7, checkable on the government GST portal. We'd genuinely encourage you to check both before a first order, the same way you would with any new supplier.
Trust Poly Thread is our brand name, the one on the cone label and this site. Narayani Thread Private Limited is the registered legal entity behind it. Your invoice, GST documents and any formal correspondence will carry the legal name. Same company, same factory, same GST number either way.
Sumit Kumar Deora is the director, and Suman Deora handles a good part of the daily operations alongside him. It's genuinely family run, not a phrase we're using loosely.
2015, out of Chittaranjan Avenue in central Kolkata. That's eleven years as a manufacturer, not a trading house that started dealing in thread more recently.
We manufacture. That's the whole reason the company exists in its current form, rather than continuing as a reseller. Winding, tension and wax lubrication are handled on our own floor.
252/D, Chittaranjan Avenue, 3rd Floor, Near Girish Park Metro Gate No. 3, Kolkata 700006. It's a real, findable address, not a registered office with no production behind it.
Yes, and for a first order of any real size, we'd rather you did. Call ahead and we'll work out a time.
We currently supply within India. If you're asking on behalf of an overseas buyer, get in touch directly and we'll tell you plainly what we can and can't do rather than say yes and sort it out later.
No. Some of our regular buyers are small stitching units, not large mills. We'd rather start a relationship with a modest order than lose a future regular buyer over a minimum that didn't need to exist.
Search our CIN, U74900WB2015PTC206271, on the Ministry of Corporate Affairs portal or IndiaFilings to confirm incorporation date and status. Search our GST number, 19AAECN9186B1Z7, on the government GST portal to confirm it's active and the registered name matches. Both take a couple of minutes and cost nothing.
Right now, our verifiable credentials are our GST registration, our CIN as a registered private limited company, our PAN, and a multi year trading history on IndiaMART. If a specific certification matters for your procurement process, ask us directly and we'll tell you honestly whether we hold it.
Mainly, that we can change what we make. A trader selling someone else's thread has to relay a custom request upstream and wait for an answer that might be no. We just change the run. It also means when something goes wrong, we're the ones who can actually fix it, not just apologise on someone else's behalf.
Generally, yes. It's a small enough company that you're not routed through three layers of customer service before reaching someone who can actually decide something.
No, and we won't claim otherwise. A trader clearing old stock can sometimes quote lower on a single order. We'd rather hold a fair, consistent price than compete on a number that won't survive a second order.
We find out what actually went wrong first — tension, denier mismatch, or a real production fault — and deal with whichever it turns out to be. We don't disappear once the invoice is paid.
We run a family business scale operation, not one of the large-volume factories out of Gujarat or Tamil Nadu. For most rice mills, tea packers and mid-sized units, that's a comfortable fit. For very large recurring volumes, ask us directly and we'll tell you honestly whether we can meet it, rather than overcommit and disappoint you later.
